Gold for the Bantam B team at the OBA’s!

The team had a very successful weekend as the girls played very tough and well-fought out games.

The first team we played on Friday night was the Cambridge Centaurs #2. The girls played very solid team defence and beat the Centaurs with great success, the score was 36-12. The next morning the blazers continued on to play the Bracebridge Breakers who we defeated by a score of 39-9. Then we played the Capital Basketball Xelles, who are a team we have played multiple times before. The Xelles came out with tough pressure on the girls throughout the whole game. The girls responded quite well to the pressure and pulled out the win 28-16. The girls played extremely tough team defence and held all three teams to under twenty points. In the next day, we played the St. Thomas Shock in the Semi-final game. This was one of the toughest games the girls played all weekend as it was a fight to the end. The girls hustled and played with so much heart to capture a great and solid win with a score of 34-28. The girls deserved to head to the medal game after all they hard work this weekend and throughout the year. The gold medal game was against the Strathroy Spirit’s. The game was very close in the first half, but in the third the girls came out blazing and hit some crucial three pointers and tough inside the paint baskets to pull out and create a lead. The team fought hard and ended up winning 29-17 to win the gold medal. The Bantam Blazers #2 were placed in division 10. The team played and worked very well as a unit with everyone contributing to each win throughout the weekend.Click edit button to change this text.
