The Brockville Blazers Major Midget Boys basketball team spent an exciting and eventful weekend in Hamilton. They competed in the Blessed Sacrament Boys Basketball tournament. They began their pool play Friday night handily beating the Orangeville Hawks 52 to 29. Their Saturday morning game was a rematch from a Markham tournament and the boys once again beat the Oakville Vytis team with a score 52 to 42. Their Saturday afternoon game was an amazing comeback. The Burlington Panthers came out ahead at the end of the first half with a score of 25 to 9. The Blazers through grit and determination came back in the second half scoring 41 points to beat Burlington 50 to 41. Their semi-final play continued Sunday morning against an Eastern Ontario rival the Gloucester Wolverines Selects Plummer team. They came out the victor to advance to the gold medal game. Trying their hardest they were still unable to beat the London Ramblers losing 63 to 42. Despite the loss, the team was very happy with 4 wins and 1 loss to bring home a silver medal.
