The major midget girls’ season has just started but they have a nice shiny gold medal to decorate their trophy cases. The girls had only played 2 games before the Chris Paulin Tournament.
Friday night they went to work against Nepean. After trailing at the half, they came back to win 38-30.
Game 2 was against Seminaire St-Joseph out of Quebec. They came out blazing and crusided to a 39-27 win.
As the weekend went on, they began to get their rhythm and took out ONL-Holloway 47-27, which set up a rematch for gold against Nepean. In the finals, it was a nail biter, back and forth, but in the end, the experienced Blazers took the match 53-51.
Lily Young was named Tournament MVP for the Blazers.
