The Brockville Blazers Novice Girls 1 team completed a perfect weekend at St Mary CHS by defeating the Nepean Blue Devils 35-16 to claim their first tournament championship of the season. The girls made it to the finals by going 4-0 in round robin, outscoring opponents 172 to 46. Led by leading scorers Isabelle Carson, Isabelle Guenette and Camryn Stefura, the girls went into the finals against a Nepean team they have faced many times.
In the championship game, the defense was outstanding and the entire team contributed on both ends as they came away with 35-16 victory and the gold medal.
Congrats to Coach Luc and Coach Brian. The girls will play league games and finish with touraments in Hamilton at Blessed Sacrament and the OBA.
