The U14 Girls Jardine had a great 2018 Chris Paulin Tournament going 4-0 and winning the Division 1 AAA Championship and the Gold Medal. The girls defeated South Simcoe on Friday night, and followed that up with a win over host Ottawa Next Level on saturday morning. Winning their pool allowed them to move directly into the semi finals.
On Sunday, their stifling defence held Gloucester Wolverines in check most of the game and the Blazers came away with the 37-32 win.
In the finals against a very strong Kingston Impact U14 team, the Blazers came out fast building a large first period lead. The Impact didn’t give up and came back to take the lead in the 4th quarter. The Blazers, trailing by 4 late, made a strong push, to take the lead and finishing the game up by making free throws to clinch the 49-41 win and the gold medal. Michelle Olak was selected as the tournament MVP with her strong inside play and rebounding.
