When the votes were counted, Team of the Year honours went to the Blazers Midget Girls basketball team at the Kinsmen Sports Hall of Fame Banquet held Thursday June 15th at the Brockville Memorial Centre. The Blazers beat out the Midget C Angels Girls Hockey team; The Upper Canada River Otters, The Ange Gabriel Intermediate girls Basketball Team; and the TISS Boys Track & Field Team.
The Brockville & Area Sports Hall of Fame added 5 new members to the Hall. Professional Soccer goalie Coach Mike Toshack; Life time baseball umpire and organizer Ralph McMullen; Hockey coach Dave Saunders; Long distance runner Paula Wiltse and TISS Track & Field champion Josh Jonker will be inducted in a special ceremony at the Brockville Memorial Centre.
