The Mike O’Connor Memorial Tournament hosted annually by Gloucester Wolverines is a girls tournament only, featuring teams from U10 all the way to U19.

The Blazers had 3 teams competing this year.  The Novice U10 girls took part in a Mini-Tourney with 2 other teams.  The U16 Team 1 Perkins and U16 Team 2 Douglas also competed in Div 1 and Div 2 respectively in the U16 group.

The U10 girls went 1-1 on the day to claim a silver medal. They defeated Nepean but lost to the host Gloucester Wolverines.

Div 1 U16 had Team Perkins finishing 2-1 in the round robin.  They easily defeated Hawkesbury Friday night.  They followed up with a win over Nepean Blue Devils U16 Saturday afternoon.  The late game Saturday night had them playing one of their main rivals, Valley Pride.  They lost to Valley Pride, setting up a rematch on Sunday for the Gold.  In another tight game, Valley Pride came away with the Gold and Team Perkins was winner of Silver.  The girls are off to Markham for their next tournament.

Div 2 U16 had Team Douglas going 2-1 as well.  Their Friday night game was close but Kingston Impact came away with the close win.  Saturday, they pulled up their socks and took down Ottawa Shooting Stars U16 on two free throws by Sydney Jardine with 5 secs left in the 47-46 win.  They easily defeated Ottawa Shooting Stars U15 by 18.  This set up a rematch with Kingston who finished pool play in fourth for the Bronze medal.  In the Bronze game, Kaylee Moorhouse led the team in scoring with 12, while Ivana Oseghale had 12 rebounds and 5 steals to lead the defense in the 41-32 win.  Kingston Mega Tournament is next for their team.
